Changin' Surroundings

We started the new flooring project during the husband's xmas holiday vacation (lucky dog, he gets off from Xmas eve until the first working day of the new year OFF, paid by the company). And by "started the new flooring project," I mean we supervised while professionals came in and did it.

We had the dingy beige carpeting from the previous owners replaced. In the dining and living room we now have a wood laminate, and in the kitchen the guys came in and laid new linoleum over the slip-shod DIY vinyl tiles in the kitchen (which no matter how much we scrubbed or Swiffered, always looked so dirty).

The wood laminate was finished before New Year's Day, and the linoleum guys came in yesterday a.m. by 9, and were out by 11. We're stunned at the change. Both visually and tactile. The painters tape is just there to keep the threshold in place until the glue sets up.

New decade, new decor.
