I Think I Might Want to Strive For a Blue Ribbon

I have a great project I'm working on, letting it hibernate and marinate a bit. The bulk of it is composed of wool from one friend's farm. Would love to see about involving the wool from another friend's farm. Felt it. Finish it. Then consider entering it in those contests (what are they even called? I'm out of my element here!) at County Fairs, CGOA Chain Link, and perhaps Rhinebeck, where items/garments/etc are entered to win blue ribbons and such. How do I get that process started? Do you have any experience and/or recommendations?
