Snowstorm Productivity

Summed up thusly: Freeform. Tibetan. Sherpa. *DONE*.

End Note: Two years after befriending him and making this for him,
the friend in question showed his true colors (spoiler alert: SOCIOPATH!).
I don't regret hooking this or being kind.
I don't view myself as being gullible or a fool.
But I do acknowledge what a spectacular
manipulator my (former) friend is.

Posting This A Year Later

Every once in a while I get sentimental about friends I've had, and friends I've lost over the years. Sometimes I don't remember why or how we don't speak anymore. Sometimes things are more cut and dry.

I'm posting this as a reminder to myself (posted in sequence of the two posts which precede this one, for context).

Well over a year after the fact, I'm still weirded out by how things played out. You can only try to have a dialogue with someone who is willing or interested. No passive-aggression on my part. Just acknowledging the alienation and trying to move on with my life.

Signed,
The Cunt

Note added 2/25/26

As after things went pear-shaped in 2009, I distanced myself from Ravelry, for several more nuanced reasons other than this person, who I one time considered an IRL friend, is really unhinged if a blog post regarding the fleeting nature of relationships & my feelings of abandonment were received by her as an attack. I missed (who I thought was) my friend.

Couple that up with the fact that none of our mutuals defended me while she went on this meltdown, I figured I’d just give her space and my connection to Ravelry, in particular the group LSG where I was an active participant, was collateral damage.

Anyway, recently I have been more active on ravelry but mostly updating projects or queueing patterns with an occasional post here or there, I came to discover Slpbeauty333 passed away in Summer of 2025.

Anyway, it is sad when people struggle with chronic illness (which she developed several years after her meltdown), and sad when they pass away from said illness. And I guess nothing more needs to be said.

Part of the Process

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My partial Clapotis, in Noro Lily, as it
"lies in state."
No longer loved nor on "life support" (i.e., needles).
I do believe this project had a "DNR" filed away
in its end of life plans...
Here's the clap, in all its unraveled glory,
spreading its proverbial wings, about to
take flight and do its own
Jonathan Livingston Seagull...
Sing...
As a song in search of a voice that is silent...
And the one God will make for your way...

End Note: Kinda disturbing, but the friend who thought she'd make a knitter out of me, she who abandoned me and this project, when she read this post, actually found it amusing. I don't know if it was "ha ha" amusing or condescendingly amusing. I don't know. That's all I got out of a tweet of hers.

And as of this day, 6/29/11, I think it's officially time for me to just stop caring and/or stop thinking that there's something defective about me as a friend, and stop thinking about this, because obviously she doesn't care. So why should I. Maybe if I keep telling myself not to care, eventually I'll just stop caring. It's a theory at least. Stick a fork in me. I'm done.

PS: When I said "No need to reply to the PM on Rav. Obviously.", it pretty much said all there needed to be said.

I guess when leaving a comment on a blog post that's nearly month old, expecting me to find it only after exhausting all the usual and more expedient ways of communication, perhaps you should have obsessively checked back to see if I replied, which would then explain why I PM'd on "TKS" in the first place. Passive-aggressive, MUCH?  Had I seen your comment, I would have let sleeping dogs lie.

Again, adios, and good luck with life. Don't go away mad, just go away.
